Guatemala Trip Photo GalleryOur 22-member Guatemala Mission Team 2008 served at Casa Bernabe orphanage where over 160 children from abandoned and abused situations reside in an incredibly loving and nurturing environment outside of Guatemala City. Over 125 people from our church have gone over the years. Member care, construction projects, relationship building, teaching at the on site school, long hours and cold showers were all part of the week’s activities this year. With donations globally being down due to economic reasons, the orphanage still struggles just to feed the children and staff the most basic of meals, while the staff often is months behind in being paid the little they receive for their 24/7 total life-care they provide the precious children. Several houses there were without electricity or communications for most of the week due to inadequate funds. Join us next year for an exciting return trip, August 1-8, 2009. Visit www.foce.org for more information about supporting a child, other ways to assist or adoptions.

2007 Guatemala Missions Trip (May 26-June 2)

The 2007 Guatemala Mission team from Niceville Florida just returned from their 5th annual mission trip to Casa Bernabe Orphanage in Guatemala. 23 incredible servants took a week of their busy lives and worked hard and long for the precious children of the orphanage. They built new baby cribs, painted houses, worked on plumbing and construction projects, sewed over 40 curtains for windows in a new house and fabricated/installed a full kitchen of cabinetry in less than a week. Check out the pics! If you want more info on how you can help (or consider adoption) of these abused and abandoned children of Guatemala, go to www.foce.org. Or watch for the next trip there in June of 2008! Contact agriffin@fumcniceville.org for more information.
